There is always something going on in Maldon whatever the time of year, and hundreds of residents and visitors alike gather to watch and take part in a number of exciting and unique events.

Many local events celebrate local traditions, as well as raising money for local causes, charities and organisations. And with miles of coastline surrounding Maldon, it is no wonder that there are a number of sailing events and boat races held throughout the year. There are also a number of events throughout the year that celebrate the local talent in the area.

	Maldon Pantomime The 2013 pantomime is Robin Hood featuring Babes in the Wood, and will take place on Friday's 18th & 25th (evening performances), and Saturday's 19th & 26th (matinee and evening performances. 	Maldon Mud Race The Maldon Mud Race, an annual sponsored event sees thousands of spectactors line the sea wall at the Promenade Park to watch competitors race across the River Blackwater at low tide. For more information, please visit www.maldonmudrace.com.
	Stow Maries Vintage Fly In An opportunity to see bi-planes in flight and vintage WWI aircraft at the historical Stow Maries Aerodrome on Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th May 2013. For more information, please visit www.stowmaries.com.

	East Essex Heavy Horse Show The East Essex Heavy Horse Society host a spectacular display of the heavy horses in full harness at the Museum of Power on Sunday 16th June 2013. 	Maldon Carnival The Maldon Carnival Procession will take place on Saturday 3rd August 2013 following a week of local events.
