The Action for Family Carers charity can provide a range of information on health issues, entitlements, mobility, financial advice and more.

British Red Cross
The British Red Cross are a humanitarian organisation providing support to vulnerable people enabling them to prepare for and respond to a crisis in their community.
The Maldon branch of the British Red Cross provides short term loans of medical equipment and offers first aid courses and training to member of the public and local organisations.

Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue
Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue is a registered charity, also part of the Retired Greyhound Trust who takes in and rehome ex-racing and retired greyhounds.
The greyhound rescue charity follow a rehoming process by which they work alongside those who wish to adopt a greyhound to ensure the adoption is suitable for both dog and owner.
The rescue centre also has a veterinary clinic onsite to assist with medical problems and to provide a veterinary service to dogs that have been rehomed. As Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue are a charity, you can also show support by making a donation.

Fellowship Afloat Charitable Trust
The Fellowship Afloat Charitable Trust (FACT) is located on a converted lightvessel in Tollesbury, providing activity based courses for individuals, youth clubs, schools, churches, special needs groups and people looking to gain a sailing qualification.
FACT is run by a group of volunteers who provide a range of activities on land and ashore.
The centre offers RYA courses, dinghy sailing, power boating and rafting, as well as shore based activities, including archery, bird-watching, climbing, walking, orienteering, team building and more.

H.E.L.P Hope and Encouragement for Lone Parents
H.E.L.P (Hope and Encouragement for Lone Parents) is a registered charity led by lone parents aiming to provide support and encouragement for lone parents. The charity offers member's social interaction, activities and events, day visits and holidays, coffee mornings and more.
H.E.L.P also provide advice and training courses and workshops to build self-confidence, provide advice on finance, domestic abuse, housing and personal counselling. Members can also take workshops on coping strategies, first aid, computing and parenting skills.

Home Start Maldon
Home Start Maldon is an independent charity that provides advice and support to families in the local area. The scheme is funded by local authority and through NHS grants, and is run by a group of volunteers who have all had an enhanced level criminal records check.
Volunteers and coordinators, as parents themselves offer practical assistance and reassurance, encourage parent's strengths, promote emotional well-being and offer advice to families with a child or children under the age of five years. Home Start of a free confidential service.

Maldon (Essex) Mind is a local mental health charity in association with National Mind. The aim of Maldon (Essex) Mind is to provide support for those in mental distress, raises public awareness and campaign towards mental health services.
The charity helps individuals take control of their mental health enabling them to integrate into society with less distress.

Maldon Pioneers
Maldon Pioneers are a group of people with mild to moderate learning disabilities both living at home or in independent accommodation. The group provides activities that enable the pioneers to integrate in the wider community by learning new skills, experiences and interactions.
The group provides a variety of activities and programmes for members aged 18 and older, including evening outings, day visits, educational classes, social group meetings and holiday camps. The aim of such activities is to enable the pioneers to develop social skills that will enable them to integrate fully within the community.

Parkinson's UK is a support and research charity that is working towards finding a cure and improving the lives of those affected by Parkinson's. Local teams offer a range of services, including supporting local groups, working with health and social care providers, delivering training and supporting people in the local area.
The Maldon Group can offer information, friendship and support to people in the local area affected by Parkinson's, and their families and carers. The local branch also organises a range of events and social activities, as well as working towards improving local services.

Sea Change Sailing Trust
The Sea Change Sailing Trust are a charitable organisation that work with young people and vulnerable adults to encourage life and social skills through residential activities aboard a traditional sailing vessel. The trust aim to make an impact on the lives of disabled and disadvantaged young people by offering an environment that enables them to learn life skills and work in a group.

SWANS (Sometimes we All Need Support)
SWANS is a not-for-profit organisation providing educational, vocational and therapeutic services to adults with physical and sensory impairments and their carer's. The charity is run by professional with a background in rehabilitation, education, mental and physical health and special needs.
SWANS, aims to encourage independence within the community by offering a range of life skills workshops, including confidence building, independent living skills and an introduction to work. Available activities include, creative writing, digital photography, computing and book club. SWANS can also offer a range of therapies, IT facilities, training and education, counselling and organised events.

The Cirdan Sailing Trust
The Cirdan Sailing Trust provides sailing experiences on large sea vessels for disadvantaged young people, especially those that are socially, physically or mentally disadvantaged. The aim is to enable groups of children to experience life at sea by living and working on a large vessel to develop self-confidence, a sense of achievement, team building skills and a sense of responsibility.
The Cirdan Sailing Trust provide a structured and safe environment, in which children can build working relationships and develop life skills. The trust offers youth charters, Duke of Edinburgh Gold Residential and corporate and individual charters, as well as RYA training and certificates.

WRVS
The WRVS is an age positive charity that was originally founded in 1938 as the Women's Voluntary Services for Air Raid Precautions. Today, the WRVS provides support for older people enabling them to stay independent at home and to remain active in their community.
They offer a variety of services including practical home support, social activities, hospital services and community support, providing services such as meals on wheels, transport, emergency situation support and more. The Maldon Centre provides a place that enables older people to meet up with and interact with others. The centre also provides a variety of entertainment and social activities, as well as a range of support services.
